Static sparks across the open holonet channel, it had been so for some time before suddenly the snow of nothingness stuttered and faded into a swirling galaxy emblem. Music began to play as the camera zooms out from the image to a table with a man in a black suit, grey hair and glasses sat with a few pages before him. The music built to a crescendo before finally dying away as the man gave a charming smile to any soul watching before beginning to speak.
"Hello, one and all, I'm Max Vertigan and this.... is Spiral News. We are proud to be the first transmission and news program to begin broadcasting on the Enclave Holonet though admittedly you may be viewing a rebroadcast from various relay stations as the Enclave Holonet is free to watch for all galactic citizens," Vertigan said with a grin as he shuffles his papers and turns to face another camera which cuts away so he's facing the viewers again.
"Our inaugural story is one of great celebration. The Free State Enclave has just completed its liberation campaign of Evocar," Vertigan said almost smuggly before blinking as if...

As many of you have been made aware through various whisperings, Titus, technical and coding wizard extraordinaire, has recently been working on a series of changes to the functionality and style of TRF. The relaunch of our board on a new software platform, with new features to enhance the roleplaying experience, has been an exciting behind the scenes process for the TRF Staff.
Today, we want you to become a part of that process.
This link will take you to a preview version of the new look board. Keep in mind the look is still a work in progress and, feature wise, it's very much in the Beta stage. All the same, it's important that we include you, the member, in the process of working our way through the stages of the board's development so that we can get feedback from you and tailor it's evolution towards that feedback.
Thanks for bearing with us and have a wonderful day!
- Ahnk and the TRF Staff

At a prearranged time, a series of specially adapted vessels revert from hyperspace into undisclosed but predetermined locations within deep space. These locations have been carefully selected. One vessel in particular, chosen to be as close to the inner rim and core worlds as feasibly possible , yet not so close as to attract unwanted attention or to endanger any specific planet, or population, opens its cargo bay doors, and drops its cargo into empty space.
Presently, at different locations, staggering out-ward to the outer-rim, more vessels do the same.
Shortly after, an encrypted signal bounced from ASCA to ASCA across the entire Republic native network, is broadcasted onwards, interlinking with various systems and satellites , connecting with those worlds and systems whose networks are still very much intact, forming an enlarged make-shift network, bouncing off these and spreading further out across the galaxy, sent purely as a single raw data-packet, in a universally known format.
Linking with these adapted vessels, and dispersing the signal...

The visual opens up to an ideal garden residential location where families are having picnics, playing and laughing.
The visual begins to darken as heavy rain clouds begin to form. Instead of rain, however, the face of a Cree'Ar appears in the cloud spitting out a message of hate and violence.
As a menacing, clearly alien, warship appears overhead (as if out of the cloud), gun ports begin to glow as if preparing to fire, the families in panic, children screaming.
The message appears before the alien gunports discharge...
